"Oil And Vinegar Pot In Silver, France 18th Century 1783"
Cast and chiseled silver vinegar cruet in a shuttle shape resting on four scrolled feet with acanthus leaf attachments. The multi-lobed tray, with two cork holders, is decorated with a net, acanthus leaves and staples of bunches of grapes and palmettes on two ends which form handles. Cruet holders with four pilasters are decorated with garlands of flowers and bunches of grapes. Two 19th century cruets in translucent cut glass from Baccarat are perfectly suited to this antique setting. The cruets are in perfect condition. France around 1783, Paris Hallmarks: letter date, charge and discharge Hallmark Master Goldsmith: Bouty (Louis-Joseph) known as Millerand Bouty 950/1000 silver Length: 30.5 cm Width: 16.5 cm Height: 8.5 cm Net weight : 560 gr Total weight: 1443 gr Very good condition An old restoration to note on a pilaster.
