"Chadansu - Vintage Tea Cabinet Japan 1950"
This tea cabinet (chadansu) is made of burl veneer. Pine uprights. Moveable left side S-shaped shelf (poetic allusion to the steam coming out of a tea kettle). Two sliding glass doors, a note a combination set of shelves, drawers, cupped sliding lockers. And wood veneers the joints of the uprights are rounded into dovetails. The furniture is fully doweled. Handles reminiscent of knotted cords. Circa 1950 - style inspired by European art deco. We talk about the “taisho roman” style, equivalent to “roaring twenties”. Condition: normal wear - metal handles - shocks, marks on the uprights. An impact on the crosspiece under the glazing (see photo with arrows). This piece of furniture is fully functional and usable, with little wear and tear over time. It will need to be dusted - it can be dismantled into two blocks - weight approximately 25 kg.
