History: Marie-Madeleine Jolly (1914 - 1963) studied at the School of Decorative Arts in Paris. She met her companion Philippe Madeline, by Jean Cocteau in 1957; they introduced him to ceramics and then published his works in their workshop in Villefranche-sur-mer.
