Painter of landscapes, urban landscapes, watercolorist, post-impressionist.
First a technical designer in Strasbourg (his hometown) then he became a fashion designer in Paris.
After traveling around Europe he settled in Paris where he became friends with Soutine, Kikoïne and Krémègne. He regularly exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants, d'Automne and the Tuileries.
