Italo Giordani (1882-1956) is an Italian painter born in 1882 in Leonforte, Sicily. Although he is relatively unknown in Italy, Giordani is very appreciated in France, where he was praised by art critics. He began his career working with Venetian artists, then studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan. He quickly obtained some recognition in Italy, and exhibited his works in several cities. He is known for his paintings of Venetian landscapes, still lifes and portraits. His artistic style is characterized by a subtle use of light and color, as well as careful attention to detail. Oil on panel signed lower right protected by glass in its original frame from 1925. A label on the back: exhibition from January 1 to April 15, 1930.
