"Ferdinand Bassot: Portrait Of Monsieur E Le S., Drawing"
In the 1880s, publishing the illustrated catalog of the SAF required artists to send a drawing of the painting they wanted to exhibit, so that an engraver could record this drawing in the catalog. The drawing presented is autograph executed by the painter from his painting. Ferdinand Bassot, a student of Pils and Matout, began at the SAF in 1870. He is a genre painter. Signed lower right: F.
