"André Cortes Barbizon Scene Of Cows Around 1870 Oil On Panel"
This oil on panel signed André Cortès is a little gem of painting from the end of the 19th century. Son of Antonio Cortès, André Cortès (1815-1880) learned alongside Constant Troyon, whose quality of work he approached in many respects. The representation of the Parisian countryside was part of a dynamic of opening up painting to the outdoors and the representation of landscapes - with or without animals. The work is in good condition for its time. Note the damaged bottom of the panel (under the signature).
