Georges Jean-Marie Haquette, born May 2, 1852 in Paris and died August 7, 1906 in Dieppe, is a French painter who acquired a reputation as a painter of fishermen. He entered the School of Fine Arts where he was a student of Alexandre Cabanel. But after his studies, he became a sailor. He can, therefore, capture from life the picturesque scenes which are the subject of his compositions.
