Mercier Frères in Paris Superb display case with Louis XVI style mirror base in speckled mahogany. It opens with two molded doors on the front, beveled glass. Flat molded pediment with ears and overturned cellar, cornice with reserve. Rounded uprights and fluted spindle feet. Beautiful ornamentation of finely chiseled gilded bronzes: - Cornice with foliage, fleurons and ingot mold. - Uprights and false sleepers with asparagus tips and rudentures. - Acanthus apron, ringed feet and sabots. Mahogany interior, oak back. Rack lock. Highly crafted piece of furniture, circa 1870. Height 180 cm, width 130 cm, depth 50 cm. A sideboard from the same furniture set bears a manufacturer's plaque.
