Series of four chairs in solid mahogany and brass fillets, heart-shaped backrest, spacer legs Original gilt leather trim (damaged) English work in the style of Hepplewhite Period: early 20th century Wear and small restorations Dimensions: height 96 cm, width 50 cm, depth 45 cm, weight approximately 8kg each Hepplewhite, George (- 1786): English cabinetmaker and furniture designer whose name is associated with the neoclassical style. He became known after his death through the publication of his collection of engravings “The cabinet Maker and Upholsterer's guide”, presenting his famous creations of seats with openwork backs in the shape of a shield (shield-back).
