"Did You Say Shagreen?"
They are four desiccated stingray skins called Galuchat. Natural material highly prized during the art deco period. This beautiful visual feature, easy to work with, sometimes adorned a case, sometimes a clutch, or a box or even a lamp base... The assemblers loved it. All you need to do is soften the skin by re-moistening it, then cut it to size and attach it to the support of your choice... You have now become a true art deco craftsman....
