Rare and charming portrait of Prince Philippe d'Orléans Count of Paris (1838 - 1894) in a baptismal dress and represented standing with his arm resting on the armrest of a seat. He received the sacrament of baptism on May 2, 1841. He was the eldest son of King Louis-Philippe. Claimant to the throne of France on the death of the Count of Chambord under the name of Philippe VII. The painting is after Winterhalter.
