"Ceremonial Metate"
Ceremonial metate – Costa Rica Basalt table, beige gray volcanic stone. It is rectangular and rests on three legs, a frieze decorates the underside of the top, undoubtedly a funerary object. It is extremely sober and in very good condition. REGION: Costa Rica, Atlantic slope. Guapiles region. MATERIAL: Volcanic stone PERIOD: Linea-Vieja civilization. 800 / 1200 AD AD DIMENSION: 42 x 27 cm
