Large Statue Of "saint" In Carved Wood From The Lxiv Period.

Large and beautiful carved wooden group depicting a Saint blessing and holding on his left arm the Child Jesus (Saint Joseph? Saint Stanislas Polska?...). Very decorative work in solid wood, nicely carved and left natural with a beautiful old patina. The faces are smiling and pleasant and the drape of the tunic is well rendered. The sculpture has some old gaps but the overall reading of this large piece remains perfect. The figure was placed on a later square-section oak base and is therefore perfectly stable. On the back of the sculpture there is still the original wrought iron mounting hook. Regional work from the LXIV period.
