"Rare Small Furniture In Solid Walnut, Louis XIII Style – Mid 18th Century"
Rare 18th century piece of furniture, in small solid walnut, fitted with a drawer on the front, fitted with a knockout edge with concave corners. Opening is done by a key activating an original lock in working order. The diamond-shaped entrance, made of original iron, highlights the passage of the key. Below, a wand with throat and bec de corbin is present. This covers the top of the doors. This piece of furniture has two leaves with a large doweled frame accompanied by a perimeter with quarter-round molding, with a flower bed panel in the center. The interior of the frames is both molded and fitted with a fixed chamfer. These doors open onto original iron hinges. The right door has a working lock with iron diamond entrance. Inside we find an adjustable shelf on racks. On either side of the piece of furniture, the sides are made up of a flat panel framed by the uprights and a low chamfered crosspiece. Finally, the top is made up of three well-joined panels whose perimeter is formed by a square with a corbin beak. ******* Period: Mid-18th century Restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish.
