“Léopold Oudry (French goldsmith, mid to late 19th century). Oudry founded his workshop on the outskirts of Paris in Auteuil. Known for his vases and statues cast in copper and gold, he also worked with Charles Christofle. Oudry participated in the Universal Exhibitions in Paris, and won medals in 1855. In 1862, Oudry presented his creations at the Universal Exhibition in London. Under Napoleon III Oudry also worked to beautify and preserve numerous monuments in and around Paris using his copper plating technique, including the fountains of Place de la Concorde. »
