"Printed Canvas Bed Base - Alsatian Or Neuchâtel Swiss Manufacture Circa 1800-1810"
Circa 1800-1810 Manufacture Alsace or Switzerland Rare Quilted polychrome Indian bed slope dating from the beginning of the 19th century. Large naturalistic decoration with flower bouquets presented in large medallions framed with interlaced leaf stems. Printed on cotton with copper plate with a large ratio of seven colors, some of which are superimposed to obtain nine different tones in total. An identical canvas is listed (ref 11997) at the Musée d'Impression sur Etoffes in Mulhouse. This type of decor is similar to the Production of Neuchâtel in Switzerland, but also to that of Beautiran, where the famous printer Meillier came to settle after leaving Switzerland. Note a small hole at the top, otherwise clean and color. very vivid. Very good general condition. Dimensions: 241 cm high X 126 cm wide
