His furniture, secretaries, trictrac tables, chests of drawers, joies-du-jour... with very sober lines, are all in the late Louis style. XVI. They are executed mainly in light mahogany. For the ornamentation and gilding, Ratié called on a certain Gérard, a metal gilder, based on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine. In 1791 he worked for the Garde Meuble de la Couronne who ordered three chests of drawers from him for the Château de Saint-Cloud.
