Teapot and its silver display. France 18th century The teapot has an oval section with a flat bottom with chiseled decoration of crowns and garlands of flowers held by Marie Antoinette knots. The collar is highlighted by two guilloche fillets and decorated with a large frieze with scrolling foliage. The lid is removable, molded with a rope frieze. The wooden socket is surrounded by a corolla of acanthus leaves. The handle is made of ebony wood. The central depression display is decorated in the same Louis XVI style and harmoniously follows the decoration presented on the teapot. This set was made by Parisian goldsmith Roumier Jean-François around 1787 ** 950/1000 silver, letter date 1787, charge and discharge hallmarks. Each element of the set bears 18th century hallmarks, so later regulation hallmarks are also present.
