"Henri IV In The Bell Tower Of Saint Germain Des Prés. Bt 1822."
Interesting historical scene representing Henry IV. During the siege he placed on Paris between 1590 and 1594, Henry IV had an observation post installed in the bell tower of the Saint-Germain des Prés abbey which was outside the walls of Paris. The canvas is monogrammed lower right BT and dated 1822. It is in very good condition. I point out a very small, well-done old restoration. It is presented in a superb old channel frame in excellent condition with its original gilding. Dimensions of the canvas alone, 38 cm x 46 cm. dimensions with frame, 68.5 cm x 60.5 cm.
