Louis XV Mounted Silver Box, Barbeau Blue Enamel From The Fromery Workshop, Berlin

Pretty pocket snuffbox in shape of a travel chest, enameled from beautiful blue, which at period was called here "barbeau", that of the wildflower, Parisian silver setting, bearing small objects of Paris hallmark , 1750/1756, full Louis XV.
Shape of chest and enamel technique are typical of the Fromery workshops, former French Huguenots who made a career in Berlin, recognizable by the technique of the wheel passed over the base enamel before firing, which then serves as a support for the final gilding over low heat.
