This Charming Historical Aubusson Tapestry represents "the Story of the Elephant who had a rope on its leg" in the middle of the Tapestry we see the Queen giving this important lesson to her little Prince:
This sounds a lot like what we humans experience in our own lives: we imagine ourselves with a rope around our legs. And, worse still, we often invent it to prevent ourselves from aspiring to something else.
You have probably heard of baby elephants whose legs are tied with a rope and attached to a solid object. The first days, the animal tries by all means to free itself, without result. After a while, exhausted, he ends up giving up, that is, he understands that it is useless to try to free himself. This is when only a rope around the paw is enough to condition it to stay in place. No need to attach it to a solid object.
