This trumeau with a molded wooden frame whose original gilding is bronze colored presents a composition of restoration motifs at the corners, in the side parts and on the intermediate crossbar. This trumeau is dark with a mercury mirror in the lower part and a canvas in the upper part. This painting represents a lifeboat, the mast broken, caught in the middle of a storm. The crew, made up of a captain and two sailors, tries to keep the boat afloat despite the fury of the elements.
