"Any printer, bookseller or other, is prohibited from printing the said book "Royal Privilege of Printing" it is permitted to François Mazot to print a book entitled "The Picture of the Cross" enriched with beautiful figures. Dedicated to Monsignor the Marquis of Châteauneuf The very humble and very obedient servant François Mazot In the representation of the engravings punctuating the various parts of the mass, a parallel is established between the mass and the passion of Christ evoked at the top of each page.
