Bust Of Diana In Bronze, After Houdon - Late 19th Century "Elegant bronze bust with brown patina of Diana, goddess of the moon and hunting in the Roman pantheon, based on the original work dating from 1767 by Jean- Antoine HOUDON, one of the most emblematic French sculptors of the 18th century. The divinity is represented here with his head turned to the right, a crescent of the lunar star holding his curly hair. The artist knew how to transcribe majesty and grace in its fine features and its proud head posture. Note the presence of the master's signature, as well as that of the foundry "Freres Susse, Paris". The base of this sculpture consists of a pedestal with grooves and borders with a rotating base , also in bronze, forming an integral part of the work.
