mportant Cartel Louis 78 cm, l. 42 cm The movement has been checked and cleaned by my watch restorer. Cf. Pierre Kjellberg Encyclopedie de La Pendule Francais, Paris 1997, p.100 A Adam Léchopié (Jeanne Adam - L'Échopie) was born in 1724 in Vienna. He was appointed master watchmaker on January 10, 1758 (by privilege of the Trinity Hospital). He signed his watches LÉCHOPIÉ A PARIS and was still active around 1790, his shop was located at 67 and 453 Rue-Neuve-des-Petits-Champs. Visitor guard from 1772 to (1774/de|1774). Among his clients was the Marquis de Brunoy. He used cases from Osmond and Thomire for his watches. Léchopié is married to Jeanne Thérèse Changey, his son Adam-Augustin Léchopié signs Léchopié Young in Paris, Philippe-Adam Léchopié also becomes a watchmaker. His daughter Reine Thérèse married the watchmaker Joseph Mignolet. Adam Léchopié died on (12 Floréal year III) May 1, 1795, his widow continued the activity at the same address (1795-1797).
