Modern manufacturing inspired by the same process as the ancient nomads rugs known as Gabbeh.
The carpets are knotted by nomads or semi-nomads in Iran using traditional know-how. The simple designs are mostly inspired by the local environment of the nomads. For example, one can find camels, trees or bushes on traditional rugs.
Persian Gabbeh rugs are made from wool from locally raised flocks of sheep. The wool is therefore still largely hand-spun. Thus, each of these oriental rugs embodies a unique character of ancient culture.
Here a tree of life surrounded by foliage and pomegranates. The pomegranate is the fruit of the pomegranate tree, a tree native to Persia. It has been harvested for several centuries all around the Mediterranean, as well as in Central Asia. The tasty and thirst-quenching juice of the pomegranate was very popular with trade caravans crossing the desert.
A symbol of health and youth due to its beneficial properties and its blood color, the pomegranate also embodies sensuality, fertility and femininity.
