Circa 1860 France Beautiful large curtain in electric blue wool damask dating from the Second Empire period. Soft, tight weave in damask wool cheesecloth with twill background and satin background decoration. Generous designs with large leafy roses and flowering grasses. Complete with matching trimmings on three sides. Note a 1 cm repair at one end, otherwise no stain or hole. Color and brilliant luster preserved. Good general state of conservation. Dimensions: 334 cm high by 132 cm wide.
