"Still Life With Roses, Mantel Clocks And Porcelain By Josef Schuster (1873 - 1945)"
The still life with flowers, a mantel clock and antique porcelain was created by the Austrian still life painter Josef Schuster (1873 - Vienna-1945), brother of the painter Karl Maria Schuster. Studied as a guest from 1895 to 1897, then (thanks to numerous scholarships) as an auditor at the Academy of Fine Arts (Special School Prize 1901 and Rosenbaum Prize 1902). As an independent painter, he continues the tradition and brushwork of the old Viennese masters. In 1933 he became a member of the "Kunstlerhaus" (joined the conservative group "Gsur") and specialized in still lifes.
