A mother feeds her baby birds. The very substantial and vibrant treatment transcribes the rush of hungry little ones. Burgundy red patina characteristic of the 1920s-40s. the sculptor, was visibly trained in the spirit of Western animal sculpture (like many of his generation). Some green oxidation in some folds. A discoloration of the patina under the mother's beak (see photo at the end of the slideshow.
