Object description :

"Moving Work Of Devotion : “the Princess Of Lamballe”"
France circa 1900: “Moving work of devotion: La Princesse de Lamballe”, framed chromolithograph mounted in a frame made up of disparate clock elements: crown of bronze laurel leaves (16 x 18 cm) and rear grille, two pendants made of iron beads (about 10 cm) were suspended there but are detached and are falling apart a little (I collected some beads for those who have the patience to re-thread them!). The atrocious death of the Princess de Lamballe during the revolutionary events helped to arouse a wave of legitimist feelings which still persists today. Do not hesitate to ask us for photos or additional information by email or telephone. Other photos and many other objects in our stores in Pau and Biarritz and on our site: galerielhoste.com.
