This Panther of Cochinchina was first presented in the form of a plaster at the Salon of 1881, then in bronze in 1883. In his dictionary, Théodore Véron describes Geoffroy's sculpture in these terms: “The ears lying on its flattened skull, it meows or roars with an expression of ferocity. This little plaster is very real and very well observed. »
