*An artist specializing in military scenes, Alphonse Chigot works in Valenciennes. He was born in Garcay (Cher) in the 19th century and studied under Potier in the French school. His works have been exhibited at the Salon de la Société des Artistes Français, notably in 1908, and are appreciated for their composition and vibrant colors. Some of his creations can be found in museums, such as "The Army of the East" in Bourges and "The Duel" in Cambray-Valenciennes.
