"Cd9 Jean Dufy : “the Mills In Haarlem”"
Jean Dufy (1988-1964): “The mills in Haarlem”, Indian ink drawing 25 x 41 cm, mounted by a Marie-Louise in a black and gold frame 45 x 53 cm (small accident). Stamp of the artist's signature a little faded at the bottom left, located in pencil, crossing marks of tape at the top and in the lower corners, some traces of handling. Traced with a virtuosity full of suggestion that his contemporaries Picasso or Matisse would not have denied, despite the sobriety of the means employed, this composition is perfectly balanced and entirely characteristic of the style of this former student of his brother Raoul and of 'Othon-Friesz. This set of drawings and watercolors comes from the same collection, obviously all chosen with taste and framed with care and demonstrate a discernment that is as eclectic as it is qualitative.
