Is a French painter affiliated with the expressionist movement.
In 1911 he was a student at the Beaux-Arts in Paris under the supervision of Gabriel Ferrier. His strong character, which does not support traditional institutions, earned him his dismissal from school.
He then frequented the painters of Montmartre and became friends with Pinchus Krémègne (Jewish painter of the School of Parisà and André Masson (painter, illustrator, engraver, viscerally non-conformist artist)
Both will have a great influence on his painting. Very quickly the Loutreuil's off-the-beaten-track talent was quickly appreciated, great painters like Antoine Bourdelle recognized his originality. With painters and critics from Prés Saint Gervais, a small rural town to the east of Paris, he formed a close-knit artistic community on the model of the Pont-Aven School.
In 1920 he founded the Salon des Anonymes. Like the painters of his time, he traveled to Europe and Africa. After his death in 1937, on the occasion of the International Exhibition several of his works were presented at the exhibition of “Masters of Independent Art" at the Musée du Petit Palais.
In 1994, it was in Paris that around forty of his paintings were exhibited at the Bourdelle Museum during a retrospective exhibition . The Town Hall of the 9th arrondissement showed a set of drawings and watercolors. Painter of various subjects, a Parisian landscape is represented here.
