Last in a series of 3 miniatures on sale in our gallery, this gouache represents the portrait of a young woman under the Directory She is dressed in a dress with a marked waist under the chest, with a medallion necklace around neck and a bouquet of roses adorning her graying hair. She carries a bouquet of roses on her right hand. This is a very high quality painting by a student or follower of Hall. A JV signature from Hall on the left. Frame in chiseled and gilded bronze.
