"Wedding Wardrobe, Normandy, 1st Third Of The 19th Century"
Wedding wardrobe, in solid oak, richly molded and carved. The pediment presents a basket of fruit in high relief surrounded by vine branches, the oblique medallions, characteristic of the Norman cupboard, repeating on each door the motif of the basket of flowered fruit and the vine branches which can also be found on crosses it in the lower part. Copper hinges and fittings. Early 19th century period. Origin: Vire region in Calvados (France). Note, a small old crack on the left door at the height of the lock, not serious (see photo). Otherwise, very good condition, very healthy, no trace of wood-eating insects.
