Late 19th century These vases are mounted as lamps and the electricity has been redone to standards. Very decorative and in pair, beautiful subdued light passing through the stone. Very good state. Did you know ? : Used since Antiquity mainly in Egypt, alabaster is a stone composed in particular of calcium. Its transparent appearance makes it unique and its success, particularly in the world of art. There are two kinds of alabaster: calcareous alabaster, composed of calcium carbonate, and alabaster gypsum, composed of calcium sulfate. It is the latter that we find mainly in decoration and which constitutes our vases. Together as a pair, of good height (41cm), very decorative and in fairly good condition.
