"Old 19th Century Fan. Rare Engraved, Chiseled, Pierced Frame Painted With Wedgwood Medallion"
Fan with a rare engraved, chiseled, pierced and painted trompe l'oeil mount with medallions imitating Wedgwood porcelain. This is an unusual frame model! The plumes and sprigs are engraved, chiselled and pierced with flowers and birds. The sheet is gouache painted paper of a scene where a young woman holds a nest of baby birds, a cage waiting for them being placed a little further away. Leather back painted with flowers. It is in good condition (very slight cuts from use on the folds). Silver rivet set with a Rhine stone. Diameter: 53 cm Length: 28.5 cm
