Paris 1819-1838 - Sterling Silver Goblet Tumbler By T. Tonnelier, "vieillard" Mark

Cylindrical tumbler or litron goblet in solid silver by master goldsmith Théodore TONNELIER. It is decorated with a finely carved frieze of flowers and foliage and an alternating frieze of flowers. The lip is highlighted with a double-net headband.
Marked JT on the back.

Hallmarks:
•    Vieillard 1er titre (French mark for solid silver 950/1000).
•    Master goldsmith hallmarked twice: TT une plume et un soc de charrue for Théodore TONNELIER (working between 1797 and 1838).

Net weight: 98 gr.


THÉODORE TONNELIER

Théodore Tonnelier is a goldsmith in Paris at 17 bis, rue Chapon. He works between 1799 et 1838. Many pieces of religious goldwork now classified as an historical monument came from its workshops. Three solid silver timpani are kept at Le Petit Palais in Paris¹.
