Oil on poplar panel representing the Holy Family. Tuscany or Umbria, around 1500-1520. The Holy Family is the name given to the family formed by Jesus of Nazareth and his parents Mary and Joseph. She symbolizes family virtues for Christians, and can be represented in the company of Saint Elizabeth or Saint Anne. Recurring theme in painting, the cult attached to it only dates from 1665. Wooden lining at the back, with horsehair reinforcements. Very satisfactory general condition considering the age.
