"Half-moon Chest Of Drawers With Marquetry Leaves, Louis XVI Period"
Louis XVI period chest of drawers in violet wood marquetry decorated with butterflies and friezes. The curved half-moon facade simulates drawers with ring pull handles and gilded bronze keyholes, but in reality this facade opens with two leaves revealing an interior with shelving offering two storage levels. The lock allowing opening is hidden behind the handle at the top right!. Resting on four spindle feet inlaid on all sides ending in bronze sabots. This chest of drawers is topped with its original Carrara marble in perfect condition, with a groove and four projections highlighting the uprights. In excellent condition, it is presented in its period stamp varnish finish. All the hardware: bronzes, hinges, locks and bolts are from the 18th century.
