A picturesque view from Kępa in Grudziądz Carl Ludwig Scheins 1808-1879 Gustav Breuning (born at the turn of May and June 1827 in Starogard, died November 29, 1902 in Grudziądz[1]) - German painter. Curriculum vitae Nothing is known about his origins and his years of study. He lived in Grudziądz around 1860, running his own workshop and a paint supply and wallpaper store at 4 Klasztorna Street. He painted portraits, religious paintings (including for the local evangelical church in 1884) and architectural views, mainly on local themes. His works have survived in the Museum. priest Dr. Władysław Łęga in Grudziądz, in the West Prussian Museum (Westpreußisches Landesmuseum) in Warendorf, as well as in private collections. The best is View of Grudziądz from Kępa Strzemięcińska from 1869 at the Grudziądz Museum[2]. In the Bieler Palace in Mełno he created wall panels showing views of the surrounding Teutonic castles. His works were distributed in the form of oil engravings and postcards. Gustav Breuning was buried in the old Evangelical cemetery on Toruńska Street in Grudziądz.
