Alfred Boucher was a renowned French sculptor and painter. His beginnings were shy until the Salon of 1881, when he was crowned for his work "La Piété filiale" ("Filial Piety"). From then on, his popularity grew, and he received numerous public commissions, private individuals commissioned funeral monuments, and many personalities from the worlds of politics, science and the bourgeoisie wished to be represented by Alfred Boucher.
He was Camille Claudel's teacher and the founder of La Ruche artists' commune in Paris.
Condition: very good overall, despite imperfections in the marble, a few chips and a missing corner at the base.
