"Oba Terracotta Head Benin Nigeria"
Superb portrait representing King Oba, these heads, often in bronze, are rarely, like here, in terracotta, although this was a fairly common practice in the 19th century. They are intended to be placed on small altars, it is in perfect condition, very finely detailed with a superb patina, height 23 cm.
