Object description :

"Bouquet Of Roses By Gustave Lino (1893-1961)"
Oil on canvas representing a bouquet of roses, by Gustave Lino (1883-1961). Signed lower right. 46.3 cm x 55 cm The painting represents a bouquet of roses in a vase placed on a table surrounded by objects. You can also see a bowl with lemons, sweets in a small bowl and in a candy dish decorated with arabesques and an oriental-style vase. The background is remarkable, which could be compared to Matisse's palette. Gustave Lino, a student of Georges-Antoine Rochegrosse, stayed in Algeria during the First World War. He had his first exhibition in 1927 in Paris. The city of Paris acquired one of his paintings, and the Algiers museum keeps several of his works (landscapes, still lifes, portraits, etc.).
