He owned a large collection of works of art[4]. He donated works to the Historical Museum in Sanok; in 1962, 46 works, including 11 of his own[26][27]; in total, at the turn of 1962/1963, he donated a collection of 235 works. During his lifetime, he donated his engravings to the National Museum in Warsaw, and he donated his paintings and engravings (70 works) to the Sanok museum[3]. In 1972, it was planned to create a gallery there. Maria and Franciszek Prochaska, and at that time, at the request of Sanok, the idea of awarding the artist with the badge "Merit for Polish Culture" by the Minister of Culture and Art was born[2]. On November 20, 1978, Prochaska's heirs (sister Jadwiga, wife of the officer and doctor Kazimierz Niedzielski, and his niece Anna Florkowska née Stok and her husband Aleksander Florkowski) donated his further works to this institution (190 pieces in total)[28][29][30][ 3]. The Gallery of Contemporary Art named after Maria and Franciszek Prochaska was established in the Sanok museum. Streets in his hometown of Brzozów (lit. Prohaska) and Sanok in the Dąbrówka district were named after Franciszek Prochaska[31].
