Charming low buffet in Louis XIV walnut, 1st half of the 18th century.
probably a small order or religious community buffet as one could meet at the hospices of Beaune for example.
it is sober and has an opening by two molded mitred doors whose central panel is carved with a hexagon with double flowerbeds presented in a square pattern. the top is sober and in very good condition, made up of two walnut boards, with a nice profile on the edge. the sides are soberly worked flat with a chamfered rectangular molding.
it is adorned with a low molding with a nice profile. it rests on two loaf legs at the front and its rear uprights end in square legs, the two of which have been grafted over approximately 4 and 3 cm.
all backs are original. no wood-boring insect attack but a preventive treatment with xylophene was carried out at the workshop. very beautiful blond walnut patina.
no restoration with sign apart from the grafts of the ends of the back feet.
original fittings, the lock was changed in the 19th century and works with its key. two shelves inside redone in the 20th century, possibilities of leaving only one.
a rare small walnut sideboard very well preserved and easy to place: entrance, bedroom, living room, dining room, it can be placed easily anywhere and its proportions allow it to be placed anywhere.
