Jewelry box in sterling silver with a circular shape, the tortoiseshell lid inlaid with a garlands of flowers, ribbons and a central medailion in silver. The cover reveals an original velvet interior. It rests on three feet.

Condition report: Superb condition of the shell. A few minor knocks to the front.

His prestigious clients include the Queen of France Marie-Antoinette, the Empress of Russia and Princess Grace of Monaco, Charles Dickens, Houdini, several Maharajas and held mandates as suppliers to the Russian Empire and the Royal Household from Japan. Queen Victoria was the first British monarch to call on Mappin & Webb for Victoria's Golden Jubilee necklace in 1888. The company is still a supplier to the King.
Mappin & Webb is the designer of the Ryder Cup trophy and has been manufacturing trophies for the Royal Ascot horse races for 75 years.
