"Bronze Sculpture “the Bather” Or “nymph Descending From The Bath”, After Falconet."
Beautiful bronze sculpture with an antique green patina with light shades, representing "The Bather" or "Nymph Descending From the Bath", based on the original marble model sculpted in the 18th century by the famous sculptor Etienne-Maurice Falconet and exhibited at the Louvre since 1855. This model, inspired by a painting by François Lemoyne, represents all the grace and discreet sensuality specific to Antiquity. It is signed Falconet on the terrace. On the base appears the name of the famous founder Barbedienne (Fernand Barbedienne 1810-1892). Very good state. Period second half of the 19th century.
W/D/H: 18 x 20 x 57 cm. Base Ø 17 cm. Weight 11.3 kg.
